Welcome to the PTA section of our website
On behalf of the PTA, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to our school community and we hope that your child has a wonderful experience here at Dundonald Primary School.
The PTA plays an important role within our school community and it is a great way to get involved with your child’s education.
Dundonald Primary School PTA has recently become a registered charity, NIC no. 110001. We have a small Committee of 7 members who are elected in September each year at the AGM. Whilst the elected Committee are legally accountable for the work of the PTA, the PTA is open to all parents/ guardians of current pupils at Dundonald Primary School along with both teaching and support staff.
The principle roles of the PTA are to support the school community by:
- Providing social opportunities for children and parents
- Fundraising to extend the school budget and resource items outside the EA budget for the school.
Our PTA is very active and well supported and we have been delighted in recent years to raise and present the school with over £30,000!
These funds have helped with the purchase of iPads, outdoor playground equipment, learning equipment for our Forest School area, science and art resources and a 75” interactive touch display panel for the ICT suite to name but a few!
We have very much appreciated the engagement of our parents alongside the school’s staffing team who have given their time generously to support the school.
Some events arranged by the PTA include:
- Summer Fair
- Colour Run
- Pantomime Trip to The Grand Opera House
- Movie Night
- School Disco
- Pumpkin Parade
The PTA meets up to 5 times during the school year, on a week day evening. The meetings, made up of both parents and teaching staff are very informal and relaxed, where we discuss fundraising ideas and plan events.
Dates and times of each meeting are communicated through both the school’s Dojo app and on the “Dundonald Primary Parents” Facebook page.
You don’t need to attend every meeting – you can come along at any time or, if meetings are not for you, we are always on the lookout for volunteers to help with events we hold during the course of the school year and would very much welcome your support!
All funds raised will be used to purchase provisions for the school that will be directly to the benefit of all of our children.
