  • We Love Numicon!

    Wed 01 May 2019

At DPs we are not only passionate about working in partnership with other schools but we also value parents and aim to involve them in their child's education. Parents were invited from Tor Bank, Longstone & Dundonald Primary School to attend a Numicon Parent Workshop. The workshop made parents aware of what Numicon is, why it is of benefit in developing and challenging each child's mathematical knowledge and how it is used within the school environment. We would like to thank all the parents who attend and hope that the workshop was of benefit.

  • Raising Money To Help Others

    Thu 21 Mar 2019
After our big workout with Buddy, we are delighted to announce that we raised £3854.04. We would like to thank all who contributed and can assure you that NSPCC greatly appreciate our support.
  • Who Am I?

    Fri 08 Mar 2019

Books...how brilliant they are! They can bring you into an imaginary world, inform you of interesting facts, teach you about what happened a long time ago, expand your vocabulary, help the expression of different emotions and make you a better person. The potential of a good book is amazing and that's why we love them at DPS! To celebrate stories and encourage all to have a love for reading, on World Book Day we dressed up as a character from our favourite book.

  • New School Eco Code

    Tue 12 Feb 2019

We delighted to announce that we have a new Eco Code. Each class was asked by their Eco Councillor to create a new code. There were lots of great ideas, so to make it fair the ideas were put forward to the children and they had to vote which code they thought was best. Mr Knight's class (P7) and Mrs McVittie's class (P3) came up with the winning ideas. Our new Eco Code is:

    Eat - Sleep - Recycle - Repeat.

    &

Go Green - Litter should never be seen!

  • This weeks workout!

    Fri 08 Feb 2019

Buddy's Big Workouts have now been completed!

Congratulations to all pupils who participated. Buddy was not only proud of your hard work but so were your teachers. A big thank you to all those who returned the sponsorship forms. We will keep you posted about how much money was raised.

  • Safer Internet Day...Together for a Better Internet

    Thu 07 Feb 2019
This week was a busy one! We not only had to complete our workout challenge but Tuesday 5th February was Internet Safety Day. Every class completed an activity focused on how to remain safe when using the internet. We want all at DPS to be aware of the dangers of the internet and to make good choices when using the internet.
  • Together we Celebrate

    Tue 05 Feb 2019

As part of our Shared Education programme with Longstone school and Tor Bank school, we got together to celebrate Chinese New Year. We would like to thank Stella and team who taught the pupils how to count to 10 in Mandarin, played an Erhu and taught them how to do the Dragon Dance. The pupils also got to dress up on traditional clothing and were able to make their own dragons.

  • Buddy's Big Workout

    Thu 31 Jan 2019

We would like to thank volunteers from NSPCC for taking the time to talk to all pupils about speaking out and staying safe. To support the wonderful work that NSPCC do, at DPS we are going to fundraise with Buddy. Every child has been given a sponsorship form and we would like to encourage all to raise as much money as possible. Next week, we are looking forward to completing one of Buddy's Big Workouts.

Come on DPS...we can do it!

  • Pupils Matter @ Dundonald Primary School

    Thu 17 Jan 2019

At DPS we not only care about each child's education but we also care about their health and wellbeing. Throughout the week different activities were implemented to promote health and wellbeing. This included 'A Daily Mile' challenge for all classes which was brilliant. The children loved the challenge, competing to see who could complete the mile the quickest! The importance of keeping fit was not only emphasised but the need to be aware of, express and talk about our feelings was also highlighted.
