News and Events at Dundonald Primary
We would like to thank volunteers from NSPCC for taking the time to talk to all pupils about speaking out and staying safe. To support the wonderful work that NSPCC do, at DPS we are going to fundraise with Buddy. Every child has been given a sponsorship form and we would like to encourage all to raise as much money as possible. Next week, we are looking forward to completing one of Buddy's Big Workouts.
Come on DPS...we can do it!
At DPS we not only care about each child's education but we also care about their health and wellbeing. Throughout the week different activities were implemented to promote health and wellbeing. This included 'A Daily Mile' challenge for all classes which was brilliant. The children loved the challenge, competing to see who could complete the mile the quickest! The importance of keeping fit was not only emphasised but the need to be aware of, express and talk about our feelings was also highlighted.
As part of our health and wellbeing week we held a fair on Tuesday 15th January from 7:00-8:00pm for our parents/families. Representatives from various organisations spent the time chatting to parents about a range of programmes and products which are available for them to access to ensure Health and Well Being are prioritised for their family We would like to thank those who participated including:
Action Mental Health, NSPCC, The Body Shop, Norwex, household chemical free products, Health Matters, Ready for Anything, Relax kids, Michael Andress Solicitors, PSNI Community Police, Tropic organic skin products, Parenting NI, Suitor Yoga , Solutions therapy, Love Yoga NI, therapy dog, Family works/Imagine IF and Sightcare Opticians.
A big thank you to the parents who came along, we received very positive feedback and might well make this a yearly event.

For those of you who couldn't attend please avail of the free GURU- service O2 are offering in their stores (pre booking is required) for any parents when devices used in the home can have the necessary safety elements added. It is a free service so book your appointment at your local O2 store.
An outstanding amount of £1720 for Diabetes UK which was raised during the primary 1 to 3 nativities in December. A phenomenal total of £2162 was also raised during the school carol service which has been donated to Brainwaves NI.
We would like to thank everyone for their kind contributions to raise these amazing totals!
