News and Events at Dundonald Primary
On Wednesday 7th March 2018 the children took part in ‘Ditch the Dark Day’. The children were encouraged to walk to school or part of the journey wearing colourful or reflective objects. The children wore objects such as high visibility jackets, armbands and hair bobbles. Prizes were also given out to the classes and children who participated in the event.
At Dundonald Primary School and Nursery Unit, we celebrated World Book Day by focusing on different authors and reading from a variety of books. The children took part in various fun and creative reading and writing opportunities to really promote a love of books and of reading not just for pleasure but also for a purpose. Children read not only with their classmates but with children in different classes. They where given an opportunity to share and read various books. The adults also read and shared their favourite children’s books.
Students from Dundonald Primary School and Nursery Unit were selected to be a part of the photo shoot for the DfI's Road Safety Calendar for 2018/19. The calendars are large, glossy and eye catching teaching aids, providing important road safety messages which teachers can highlight to their classes each week. The calendars are distributed to Primary Schools all over Northern Ireland.
